Mr Amr Mohamed completed his undergraduate medical studies at Alexandria University in 1998, and completed neurosurgery residency in Egypt and Saudi Arabia before starting in the NHS in 2011. He was appointed as a Consultant Neurosurgeon at University Hospital Wales, Cardiff and Vale University Health Board in 2019, with subspecialty interests in endoscopic pituitary and skull base surgeries, and neuro-oncological pathologies and microvascular decompression for facial pain syndromes. He completed an RCS Senior Neuro-oncology fellowship at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust between 2018-2019, when he performed complex cranial procedures, including awake craniotomies, the usage of intraoperative mapping and intraoperative MRI. He also has expertise in complex spinal procedures. He completed an MSc in Neurosurgery at Alexandria University in 2002 and has numerous publications in peer reviewed journals and presentations at international conferences.
